Reporting directly to the Director of Administration, this role will be required to take direction and seek input from several managers.

What You’ll Do:

As the Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be supporting the management and maintenance of the Health, Safety and Environmental systems. Your duties will include:

  • Periodically evaluating jobsite, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Leading the development of the safety training program along with maintenance of the Site Safety Plans
  • Managing HSE Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and subcontractor management programs
  • Assist Project Managers in development of project HSE plans and providing support to Regional Managers and General Superintendents
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) along with reviewing/maintaining emergency response plans and procedures
  • Develop materials for and conduct new employee health and safety orientations
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as data entry and forms management

What You Bring:

  • 2-5 years of experience in Health and Safety role in the construction industry
  • Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) is an asset
  • COR Internal Auditor certification required and willing to be write BC COR exam if certified in another province
  • ISO 9000 certificate is an asset
  • NHSA schooling or certification is an asset
  • Experience with Health & Safety software (Salus, SiteDocs, WorkHub, EHS Insight or Intelex, ISN)
  • Reliable vehicle, clean drivers abstract and the ability to obtain security clearance
