As a result of continued growth they are seeking an ambitious and energetic Business Development Specialist who will bring a proven professional sales ability with experience in customer-centric selling and prior experience in customer service roles. This position is pivotal in ensuring that our sales efforts align with the values of our organization, maintaining a strong focus on the customer experience in all markets we serve.

The ideal candidate will not only drive new business growth but also cultivate long lasting client relationships within new and existing markets. You will work collaboratively with key team members in both support and leadership roles and embrace a team first approach.

What You’ll Do:

As the Business Development Specialist, you will work with the Regional Manager and Business Development team to identify and develop new market opportunities within the western region that align with regional strategies and capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Regional Manager and the BD team to develop new market strategies and targeted client partnerships
  • Assist in developing annual regional targets and support revenue forecasting
  • Provide extensive research support on key client opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams including project management to develop new leads and integrate business development strategy
  • Understand customer needs and develop tailored project solutions to ensure exceptional customer experiences
  • Maintain a comprehensive tracking of potential projects and clients within key markets
  • Increase brand awareness through networking, industry events, and community involvement.
  • Develop and execute client capture strategies to win new business, including researching clients, understanding their needs, and presenting compelling solutions
  • Travel to Western region project sites to liaise with customers and assist in project plans

What You Bring:

  • Recognized University degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience in customer service roles, demonstrating a deep understanding of customer needs and satisfaction. Preference given for direct experience in either Environmental Contracting and/or Civil Construction industries.
  • Strong knowledge of market developments, with a keen sense of industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Sensitivity in dealing with different clients and partners
  • Time management and planning skills to allow you to handle multiple responsibilities and projects against tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with MS office, CRM software and sales tools.
